Popular Holiday Tradition Returns for 63rd Year in Downtown Fort Myers
FORT MYERS, FL – Drawing from nature’s most vibrant and rich colors, the “Colors of Christmas” come together in a brilliant and festive kaleidoscope that will surely delight visitors to the 63rd Annual Holiday House, presented by the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club.
Inspired by the artistry of Christmas designers Christopher Radko and Jim Marvin, the historic Langford Kingston Home and Burroughs Home and Gardens will showcase vivid hues of emerald green, peacock blue, plum, orange, fuchsia, and red, layered with sparkly gold and silver accents, and adorned with iconic Shiny Brite ornaments of the 1940s and 1950s.
Every year since 1956, hundreds of members and volunteers of the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club spend hours planning creative designs to transform the interior and exterior of the Langford-Kingston and Burroughs homes, including the lawns, gardens, and grounds, into magical displays of holiday design and décor.
“Holiday House is a wonderful tradition our members take great delight in sharing with our community every year,” said Paige Anne LeBoutillier, 2019 Holiday House Chair. “Every detail of the elaborate and beautiful decorations are carefully planned to ensure our guests are filled to brimming with the holiday spirit. ‘The Colors of Christmas’ promises to be every bit as sparkly, cheery, and joyful as the holiday season itself.”
Self-guided tours of Holiday House 2019 will run Friday, December 13, through Sunday, December 22. The hours are 5:00pm – 9:00pm, with the last tour guests admitted at 8:30pm. Admission is $5 for adults. Children under age 10 are free. Veterans and active military service members are admitted free with identification. Advance tickets are on sale now and may be purchased through the Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club website: www.fmwcc.net.
In addition to touring both festive historic homes, children may visit with Santa at the Langford-Kingston home during each night of Holiday House, and a variety of local musical performers will provide entertainment each evening.
The Historic Langford-Kingston Home and Burroughs Home are located in downtown Fort Myers at the corner of First Street and Fowler Street.
