Holiday House delights visitors every year!

Holiday House delights all our holiday visitors every year!

The Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club (FMWCC) has announced the theme for its Holiday House 2016 as “Let Heaven and Nature Sing.” The historic Burroughs and Langford Kingston homes will be decorated in the traditional holiday colors of red, green, silver and gold with reindeers, pinecones, angels, and cardinals. This year is especially significant, as the Community Club celebrates its 60th anniversary bringing Holiday House to the community.

“There is simply nothing like this, and the homes will dazzle and delight all ages,” said Beth Schultz, Holiday House co-chairman. “The Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club considers every year’s Holiday House to be its special gift to the community, and we are looking forward to the best year ever as we celebrate our 60th anniversary.”

Hundreds of members and volunteers from the historic Community Club will begin decorating the homes Friday, December 2. They spend days embellishing the interiors and exteriors of the homes with festive, holiday décor in what has become an annual Fort Myers tradition.

Holiday House 2016 will open its doors Friday, December 9 and run through Friday, December 23. Hours are from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., with the last tour beginning at 8:30 p.m. Reservations are not necessary. Tickets are $5 for adults and children under the age of 10 are free. Veterans and active members of the military are free with identification. Santa Claus will be at the Langford-Kingston home to hear children’s Christmas wishes.

The Burroughs Home & Gardens http://burroughshome.com/ and the Langford-Kingston Home are owned by the City of Fort Myers. Holiday House proceeds are used to manage and maintain the two homes year round.

The homes are located in downtown Fort Myers at 2500 and 2505 First Street, near the corner of First and Fowler streets. Free parking is available behind Grace United Methodist Church off Fowler Street. For more information, visit our website at www.fmwcc.com or our Facebook page at Holiday House of Fort Myers.
