FGCU Competes in Business Ethics Case Competition

Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU) Lutgert College of Business Ethics Case Competition Team recently participated for the third consecutive year in the Southeast Regional Business Ethics Case Competition held at Stetson University. The students were judged on a real-life case study of a current policy issue–“Gender Quotas for Corporate Boards.”

The FGCU team finished as runner-up in their division, tied for fourth place overall for the second consecutive year, and placed the highest of all six participating Florida universities. The team consisted of students Rachel Brunory and Michael Tabak, led by faculty advisors Dr. Jerry Schoenfeld and Dr. Eric Dent, Uncommon Friends Endowed Chair Professor of Ethics. The students spend the three weeks leading up to the competition at Stetson preparing their arguments on the case, which comprehensively range from financial analyses to ethical analyses.

The competition included competitive teams from universities as far flung as Simon Fraser University near Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
